BOGGABILLA CUP FiRST LEG OF TRIPLE CROWN
Winter racing continues at Gunsynd Park this Saturday July 15 when the Goondiwindi Race Club will stage the Carrington Cotton Boggabilla Cup. The Boggabilla Cup continues the Gunsynd Park Cup circuit following the Inglewood Cup and the Vern Kleinschmidt Goondiwindi Cup to be run on Saturday September 9. That Cup will form part of the Gourmet in Gundy Weekend.
The recent Picnic circuit is now completed in northern NSW and the racing returns to the professional ranks this week. Recent showers have seen the track maintain a magnificent winter growth and a great day’s racing can be expected.
Regular Race callers Greg Kachel & Brett Moody are unavailable for this meeting and renown Race Caller, Paul "Doggsy" Dolan will call his first race at Gunsynd Park. Paul is a very much travelled Race Caller and has called at 115 centres to date and is looking forward to adding Goondiwindi to his list of venues.
The Carrington Cotton Boggabilla Cup on July 15 and will once again be the first leg of the Triple Crown of Border Cups to be held over meetings at St George and Talwood. Should the winner of the Boggbailla Cup go on and win both St George & Talwood Cups, the owners will take home a $10,000 cash bonus known as the Triple Crown Border Cups Series.
The club will present the usual race day facilities, however there will be no on-course tote and while you can pay at the gate, patrons can also complete pre-paid bookings which are preferred at www.trybooking.com/cjhrk
Visitors wishing to stay are strongly encouraged to book accommodation as the town is extremely busy with visitors and tradies alike.
The usual catering and bar facilities will be available along with light entertainment and jumping castle for the kids. Strong bookies ring of eight or nine bookmakers.
