INGLEWOOD CUP & GOONDIWINDI BUSINESS OUTLETS RACE DAY featuring TAB BATTLE OF THE BUSH QUALIFIER

Mon 20 May 2019

WHO WILL REPRESENT GOONDIWINDI IN BATTLE OF THE BUSH FINAL

Saturday June 1 will see racing return to Gunsynd Park Goondiwindi with the Inglewood Cup and Goondiwindi Associated Business Houses. Racing will commence at 1.30pm pending on acceptances.

Club President Geoff Makim is expecting an above average crowd as patrons enjoy the magnificent facilities that Gunsynd Park now, offers courtesy of the very successful Picnic Raceday.  The last meeting was an outstanding success with the Goondiwindi Picnic Races where a near record crowd turned up on mass for the day. “There won’t be near as many here this week “President Geoff Makim explained “but we are looking at providing for a comfortable crowd and we are really looking forward to welcoming our Inglewood Visitors”.

There are 5 races programmed for the day and with a distinct lack of racing in the district, the club expects good fields. The on course Tab will be in full swing and another strong bookmakers ring will operate on the day.

Once again the expert catering provided by Jodie Jeans will be enjoyed by all patrons while limited trackside tables on the viewing mound can be booked by contacting Cutter Hayes on 0428 987522.

This is the seventh running of the Inglewood Cup and the second year it has been held in June after switching from the previous January date. The magnificent Battle of the Bush Series promoted by Racing Queensland has proved an enormous success and the winner of this year’s Inglewood Cup, which is the final qualifying leg, will represent Goondiwindi in the $100,000 final to be run at Eagle Farm on June 22.

Racing Minister, Hon Stirling Hinchliffe will be attending and all nearby clubs have been invited to attend the day as well as adjoining councillors and Mayors.

See you for Racing at its best at Gunsynd Park Saturday June 1.
